Women, the Selfie, & Social Media

I remember back to my teenage years, and the trend was to try and achieve a curve free body shape, including a perfectly flat stomach. I, like most women of this time punished myself daily in the pursuit of this goal. The fact that women’s bodies were built in ways that made this ideal physically impossible was not the problem. The problem was a lack of discipline, a lack of exercise, over eating or eating the wrong stuff. It really didn’t matter that you limited yourself to eating a piece of fruit once a day and exercised for 6 hours a day, the blame rested upon thyself for failure to reach this unattainable ideal.  Continue reading

Decision’s

It has been quite some time since I last felt that I had the time to dedicate to composing another blog post. In truth this blog was only begun as a part of a Business School course requirement. A using social media in business focused paper in fact. So it has never been something that I was really committed to. However, after going to the effort of starting the blog I did feel that I should make some commitment to keeping it going so those efforts weren’t wasted. Easier said than done though. I found myself really struggling to find anything of value to say , so with the assistance of a really busy study load the blog suffered a timely demise. But, as is the case with the digital world we live in, while we might move away from what we have done online, and may even have forgotten that it was ever there in the first place.
